Chapter Philanthropy Events

Dear Community Members,

Philanthropy is a fundamental pillar of the Sigma Chi mission. The Nu Associate Chapter at Northwestern University is dedicated to organizing impactful philanthropic initiatives aimed at generating vital support for cancer research through Sigma Chi’s partnership with the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

The Huntsman Cancer Institute is a premier research and treatment center located in Utah. Our chapter remains committed to supporting this distinguished organization, recognizing the profound influence our fraternity exerts on its mission and the lives of those it assists.

Our upcoming events will raise funds for the Institute while providing engaging activities for all participants. Our philanthropy events are always open to all Northwestern fraternities and sororities, as well as the broader Northwestern and Evanston communities.. We invite you to stay informed of our initiatives by following our official Instagram account, @sigsatnorthwestern. We anticipate your presence and participation in these efforts.

In Hoc Signo Vinces,

David Martinez Escauriza and Matthew Austin

Philanthropy Chairmen

The Next Opportunity to Get Involved

Upcoming Philanthropy Events:

May 18 - May 24: Sigma Chi Senior Assasin

Sigma Chi Nu brings its first senior assassin to Northwestern. Players enter in teams of two and compete to be the last team standing for a cash prize. Teams eliminate targets by finding them on campus, recording a water-gun “hit,” and submitting the video for approval, with gameplay managed through the Splashin’ app, including target assignments, location sharing, immunity rules, and occasional “purge” periods. Official rules will be released after signups close. Please complete the signup form.

May 25, 12:00 PM @ North Beach: Sigma Chi Spikeball Tournament

We are excited to bring you Northwestern’s first spike ball tournament! To sign up as a team or as an individual, please complete the signup form. All proceeds go to the Huntsman Cancer Institute and we welcome donations beyond the $10 entry fee.

The Huntsman Cancer Institute and the Sigma Chi Fraternity

“Sigma Chi's battle cry is to be The Generation to End Cancer™. After fulfilling an $11 million pledge in 2019 and on track to complete our $20 million pledge in Fall 2025, we know our work is not done. In June 2025, we announced that we are once again making the largest commitment to philanthropy in men's fraternity history with a $31 million pledge to create the Sigma Chi Center for Advanced Therapeutics and Innovation at Huntsman Cancer Institute. The Sigma Chi Center for Advanced Therapeutics and Innovation will perform groundbreaking research, as well as propel new clinical trials that will lead to safer and more effective treatments, improved quality of life, and potential cures for patients across North America and beyond. Together, we are The Generation to End Cancer™”
